Fall Wedding in the Heart of Atlanta: Anna & Nick at Terminus 330

October has become a very popular month for weddings, meaning I have been extremely busy! I kicked off my string of October weddings with high school sweethearts Anna and Nick. It was a beautiful Atlanta fall wedding, with colorful foliage on the ground and great weather. The wedding took place at Terminus 330, a beautiful industrial event space located in downtown Atlanta (fun fact, I actually took my engagement photos here!).

Anna and Nick were very positive and pleasant to work with. One of the things that stood out most to me was their dedication to each other - Nick moved to Seattle from Atlanta when Anna got a new job so they could be together!

The couple hired me after a romantic beach proposal in Hawaii. We started in 2023, so we had a long time to work together. They hired me as their wedding coordinator (which is my Classic planning collection), so my service didn’t start until 8 weeks before the wedding date, but I checked in with them monthly. My favorite part of working with Anna and Nick was that they were very trusting of my expertise and sought guidance along the way. They didn’t obsess over every single detail; however, they did carefully plan out the details that mattered most to them.

One of the biggest challenges in planning this wedding was the ceremony. Anna and Nick had a full Catholic nuptial mass at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. There were a lot of unknowns regarding the ceremony until a couple of weeks before the wedding. As a master certified wedding planner who prefers to plan ahead, I felt a little uneasy until I was able to finalize the details with the church coordinator. In the end, everything came together perfectly! The church coordinator and I collaborated very seamlessly, as if we’ve known each other for years. This was my only wedding of the entire year that had a church ceremony, so I was really looking forward to it.

One detail that Anna and Nick made sure to incorporate into their big day was their favorite date night spot, Steak ‘n’ Shake. They wanted to go to a nearby Steak ‘n’ Shake to take photos after their wedding ceremony. As one of the best wedding planners in Atlanta, I had to make it happen ;) I worked with the photographer to efficiently coordinate the logistics. I went to the restaurant ahead of the couple and photographer to order their milkshake and fries so it would be ready when they arrived. It was so cute! The couple took tons of photos and still arrived at the reception without delay. This ended up being my favorite part of the day - I’ve never done anything like that with a couple. It turned out very well and perfectly timed!

Everyone, from the couple, to the wedding party, to the venue staff, was a pleasure to work with, which made everything run smoothly. I did, however, have to make a gametime decision of removing a planned activity. The couple wanted to take photos at Centennial Park during cocktail hour because they had a 3 hour gap between the ceremony and reception. However, on wedding day, the travel time doubled from the ceremony to reception (working as an Atlanta wedding planner, you learn that traffic is never predictable). I didn’t feel that we would have enough time to go to the park to take photos and get back to the venue without rushing everyone. It turned out to be a great decision because the couple had time to go to Steak ‘n Shake and return to the venue for rooftop photos with their wedding party and parents without being extremely rushed and flustered.

The most beautiful moment of the day to me was during the reception. Both the mother and sister of the bride gave speeches, speaking very highly of the groom and how much of a gentleman he is - the sister of the bride even mentioned how she was looking for a man just like her brother-in-law. I thought that was such a blessing.

As the evening went on, joy filled the room. There were heartfelt toasts, happy tears, and constant laughter, the kind that only comes from being surrounded by your closest loved ones. Watching Anna and Nick soak in every moment reminded me why I truly love what I do.

I feel incredibly honored to have been part of their love story. Their day was proof that when couples trust the process and embrace what matters most to them, magic follows. Here’s to Anna and Nick, may they continue choosing each other just as wholeheartedly as they did on their wedding day.
